FarmHub Product Listing Policy

 

At FarmHub, we aim to create a trustworthy marketplace that connects farmers directly with consumers. To ensure quality, transparency, and fairness, all sellers must comply with the following Product Listing Policy. This policy applies to every product listed on FarmHub’s ecommerce platform's

 

1. Scope of the Policy

​

This policy governs how farmers, vendors, and sellers list their products on FarmHub. It ensures that customers receive genuine, safe, and high-quality products while sellers maintain credibility and compliance with laws.

 

2. Eligible Products

​

  • Permitted categories include:

    • Fresh produce (fruits, vegetables, greens, grains, pulses, etc.)

    • Dairy products (milk, ghee, butter, cheese, etc.)

    • Natural and organic products (honey, jaggery, spices, oils, etc.)

    • Farm essentials (seeds, fertilizers, bio-products, tools, etc.)

  • Products must be original and directly sourced from the seller/farmer.

  • Restricted/Prohibited items:

    • Counterfeit or adulterated products.

    • Expired or unsafe food products.

    • Alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, and hazardous substances.

    • Products banned under Indian laws.

 

3. Product Information Standards

​

Each listing must include complete, accurate, and verifiable information:

  • Product Name – clear, without misleading terms.

  • Detailed Description – features, origin, nutritional facts (if food), benefits, and usage instructions.

  • Net Weight/Quantity – in standard units (kg, g, ml, ltr, pcs).

  • Price Details – MRP, selling price, discount percentage.

  • Images – high-quality, real photographs of the actual product (no stock images or misleading edits).

  • Expiry / Manufacturing Dates – mandatory for packaged items.

  • Certifications – Organic, FSSAI, or other relevant licenses where applicable.

 

4. Pricing Policy

​

  • Prices must be transparent and fair.

  • No artificial inflation during festive seasons, shortages, or emergencies.

  • Sellers must comply with Legal Metrology Act for displaying correct MRP and weights.

  • Hidden charges (other than delivery/packaging fees) are not permitted.

 

5. Inventory Management

​

  • Stock levels must be updated in real-time.

  • Out-of-stock products must be marked unavailable immediately.

  • Fake listings or repeated unavailability may lead to suspension.

 

6. Packaging & Labeling Guidelines

​

  • Packaging must ensure freshness and safety during transit.

  • Labels must include:

    • Product name.

    • Net quantity.

    • Manufacturing & expiry dates.

    • Storage instructions.

    • Seller/FarmHub details.

  • Use of eco-friendly, recyclable, and tamper-proof packaging is strongly encouraged.

 

7. Quality & Safety Standards

​

  • Sellers must guarantee that products are:

    • Fresh, hygienic, and safe for human consumption.

    • Free from harmful chemicals, adulteration, or contamination.

  • FarmHub may conduct random quality checks and audits.

  • Any product failing quality standards will be immediately delisted.

 

8. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

​

  • Sellers are responsible for adhering to:

    • FSSAI Regulations (for food and beverages).

    • GST Rules (if applicable).

    • Legal Metrology Act (packaging & labeling compliance).

    • Other state and central government eCommerce/consumer protection laws.

  • Non-compliance can result in legal action, penalties, and permanent account suspension.

 

9. Prohibited Listing Practices

​

  • Duplicate listings of the same product.

  • Misrepresentation of product quality, grade, or origin.

  • Keyword stuffing or irrelevant product titles.

  • Uploading offensive, misleading, or inappropriate content.

 

10. Monitoring & Enforcement

​

  • FarmHub reserves the right to:

    • Review, approve, or reject any product listing.

    • Remove listings that violate this policy without prior notice.

    • Suspend or terminate seller accounts for repeated violations.

  • Sellers found guilty of fraudulent or illegal listings may be blacklisted permanently.

 

11. Seller Responsibility & Acknowledgment

​

By listing a product on FarmHub, sellers confirm that:

  • They own the rights to sell the product.

  • All product details are accurate and lawful.

  • They accept responsibility for customer complaints, product quality, and regulatory compliance.
